Create a Dragon Profile and Narrative Writing

What would be your ideal kind of dragon? What would it look like? What special abilities would it have? Do you know how to care for a dragon? What would you feed it? Where would it live? What kinds of things would you do together? Could you foresee any problems with raising a dragon? How will you deal with these challenges?

Write up a character profile based on your new pet dragon using the sheet below. Then write a narrative featuring the dragon and the adventures you have together. Don’t forget a beginning, middle and ending. Remember to include a problem and a resolution, as well as some awesome descriptive language!

Outcomes

Responding to Literature: Draw connections between personal experiences and the worlds of texts, and share responses with others.

Creating Literature: Create imaginative texts based on characters, settings and events from students’ own and other cultures using visual features, text structures and language features.
