Author – Leigh Hardingham
Illustrator – Patrick Shirvington
Publisher – New Frontier

WHAT is it called and what is it about?

The book is called Three Dancing Frogs and it‘s about a concert that takes place in the Australian bush. Three dancing frogs spin and twirl across the frog pond stage while the musicians and audience enjoy a wonderful evening of dancing and music in the middle of the bush.

WHEN is its release / launch date?

1st of October 2020

WHERE did the inspiration for this book come from?

Illustrator, Patrick Shirvington sent me 3 paintings/illustrations of animals in the Australian bush. The first painting of 3 frogs amongst the reeds of a pond resonated with me. I knew there was a story in there somewhere. The idea for the story didn’t come to me straight away so I asked my 3 year old daughter what she thought of the painting. She said she could see “Frogs dancing”. I immediately began to write the story based around these 3 frogs performing a concert for all the bush animals.

WHY is this book meaningful to you and why would its message resonate with readers?

This book is meaningful to me because it highlights the importance of the natural world and how it can inspire creativity and expression. The Australian bush is such a unique place with some of the most interesting animals and plants in the world. Living in Australia today, it is important to recognise the beauty of the bush and its connection to the arts and self-expression.
