The Pitch It! Competition team have been absolutely blown away by the sheer success of Just Write For Kids’ first writing competition! The judges particularly made note of the wide variety and quality of entries, submitted by many talented writers across a range of genres from picture books, junior fiction to young adult. We had a whopping 100 entries!! Thank you to everyone who put in the time and effort to enter their pitches!

Heartfelt thanks to our judges, who conducted their scoring with the most objectivity, fairness and professionalism. Thank you Dianne Bates, Debra Tidball and Kellie Byrnes for tirelessly marking each and every one of those 100 entries!

Judges based their decisions on a range of criteria, including consideration of the entry conditions, spelling, grammar and punctuation, and quality and strength of the pitch.

So, out of these entries, we have been able to create a longlist of the TOP 20 pitches. And an additional TWO Wild Card entries have been added to this list and will be automatically included in the shortlist for their potential as seen by individual judges. Congratulations!
